Membership Information

The Windward O’ahu branch of AAUW is one of eight branches in the state of Hawai’i.  We are the largest branch in the state with approximately 70 members.  Founded in 1958, we will be celebrating our 65th anniversary this year with old and new branch members, student affiliates and former branch scholarship winners.  We hope you’ll be joining us.

As an AAUW member, you’ll be proud to belong to a nationwide group of women who value education and equal rights for women.  As a Windward O’ahu branch member, you will make new friends and meet professional colleagues as you participate in meetings and activities.  Some of the activities include monthly meetings anchored by exciting speakers and two annual luncheons celebrating the holiday season and honoring local scholarship winners.  Several Interest Groups are available for your participation and include book discussion groups, a Great Decisions study group, art tours and informal lunches with other members.

AAUW members are college graduates who hold an associate degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university.  Undergraduates currently attending a college or university may be Student Affiliates.  Membership categories include regular Branch members, Life members and Dual members.  Windward women who do not hold a degree are welcome to join the branch as Interest Group members.  The membership year begins July 1 and ends June 30 of the following year.  Dues cover membership in AAUW (National), the Hawai’i Division (State) and Windward O’ahu (Branch).
